Xi'an 2021 Festival
One of the oldest cities in China, and the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals, Xi'an is the starting point of the Silk Road and is home to the famous Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. As part of the economic revival of inland China, Xi'an has recently re-emerged as an important cultural, industrial, and educational center, with a concert hall designed to offer symphony orchestras a state-of-the-art performance venue, as well as creating a world-class intimate listening experience for a public of 1,250 guests.
On the occasion of the launch of the ARCH Academy, Interclassique is proud to be producing the 2021 Season Festival of the Xi'an Concert Hall in collaboration with the Xi'an Symphony orchestra, conducted by its Principal Conductor, Dane Lam. The programme will feature a combination of chamber music and concertos, presenting an array of renowned soloists headed by legendary pianist Martha Argerich and curated by Lyda Chen. The guest artists will perform five concerts between October 20 and 31, 2021, marking the beginning of second decade of the Xi'an Concert Hall's life. The ARCH Academy of Music, an educational initiative that aims to link the music scenes of China and Europe with yearly masterclasses taught in 2021 and beyond by various prominent artists and pedagogues.
