The Greek Myth Recital Project
CD Recording, Documentary, Concert Tour 2021

With works by Couperin, Rameau, Clementi, Liszt, Debussy, Satie, Stravinsky, Kostantinidis and Hadjidakis, the Greek Myth Recital Project presents a selection of repertoire for solo piano inspired by Greece and its rich mythology.  Acclaimed by the Washington Post, the San Francisco Chronicle and many other  publications, this unique recital has been heard at venues that include the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Lugano Festival, and more recently on a tour of the Italian peninsula, including a performance for the Presidents of Italy and Greece in Rome's Presidential Palace, the Palazzo del Quirinale.  Part of a cultural diplomacy initiative, this programme has been a collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece and the Office of the President of the Hellenic Republic.

The year 2021 marks the two-hundredth anniversary of the independence of Greece and the birth of the Modern Greek State. On this occasion, we plan to present the Greek Myth Recital in the world’s leading museums that house the largest collections of Greek works of art from classical antiquity, both in Europe as well as in the United States.   The marrying of the ancient works of art with the music present the perfect opportunity to highlight the aesthetic and philosophical values that have inspired and nurtured artists for thousands of years, as we witness these universal principles revisited and reinterpreted in the works of some of the greatest classical composers.  The programme promises to bring to life these legendary sculptures, mosaics, pottery and various artifacts, celebrating the legacy of the Greek ideals and archetypes that gave birth to the Western world and that have persisted through the ages.
